Hey everyone. Thanks for joining me today. I thought that perhaps it would be a good idea to give you some new content for a bit. Macarons are one of my favorite topics to talk about but every so often its okay to talk about something else, right? Let it be about weddings instead :).
As you know, I am married and I’d like to set you up by giving you a small background post before we dive right into the gritty details! Zach and I have been married for two years and 9 months. We tied the knot on May 30th, 2015 at our local Lutheran church in Madison, Wisconsin. Although we have only been married for over 2 1/2 years, we have actually been together since 2007 which means this year will be marking our 11th year together.
Wow. We look like babies! Well, maybe just Zach.
Zachariah is by far my better half. His ability to think about others and understand a situation before going head first is very admirable. Zach and I knew that we would end up getting married so we didn’t need an elaborate proposal or need to draw anything out in a huge fancy way. We also knew we wanted to get married in Madison, Wisconsin and of course, wanted our friends and family to be able to join us in our celebration.
A slight difference that you might find with my talks regarding planning my wedding is that I never once was overwhelmed. It has been reported that most brides come out of planning their wedding stressed and wished they would have just eloped. Personally, I wish I could do it all over again. (and again). When I was a stylist and manager at David’s Bridal a few years ago, I heard from various brides and their families on how things just aren’t going so smoothly with their weddings. Fortunately, I’m here to assist in not making it so stressful!
Your wedding is supposed to be exciting, memorable, and exactly how you want a perfect night of fun and joy to be! My next several posts are going to be talking about my successes and my failures (because yes, we all fail from time to time) planning my wedding. I had a little less than one year to plan my wedding and I’d love to tell you all the things I feel I did right and all the things I feel I would have changed. Doing so will help you in your planning process or it can help someone you know currently engaged!
I will be doing a series called, ‘What I learned while planning my wedding’ flipping between my successes and my failures. I will be using the acronym: WILWPMW. In the meantime, please head over to my Pinterest to check out some interesting ideas to use for your wedding! (Don’t forget to Follow!)
Thank you for reading and keep a look out for each new post by subscribing and following my social media pages so YOU can learn from the successes and mistakes I made that will make your wedding that much better!
