Here’s one joy about being a 20 something year old, wedding obsessed woman in 2018 – I get to attend several weddings as my friends are at the age of getting married. It’s an amazing feeling because there is so much love in the air that I cannot control my emotions during their ceremony or special moments like speeches and first dances. Pretty sure I’m going to order Kleenex in bulk for the next wedding I go to.
The first Real Wedding I will be blogging about happened recently in a small, quaint town in southern Wisconsin. A little background – This couple my husband and I knew from high school and kept in touch throughout college. This beautiful, kind couple had a breathtaking ceremony taken place in Canada a few weeks before their reception. Can I first say what an amazing idea it is to plan a special time for each other at a stunning location to have your ceremony? Think about it – you grab your immediate family and you head off to Paris, Alaska or the Bahamas and have an intimate ceremony that you will remember for the rest of your life. Please. Sign me up.
Let’s get to the details. My husband and I got invited to the reception that was located at the bride’s parents’ home. Here are some of the highlights I’d like to show you.

Additional Highlights
- Provided different self-serve beverages including: vodka lemanade, sangria, beer, brandy old fashioned, water
- The serviced bar was an open bar
- Catered Q’doba for dinner (can everyone please do this – it was delicious)
- Yard games
This reception was epic. Zach and I had such a spectacular time dancing, few drinks and really celebrating the love that this couple had for each other. My favorite part about this wedding was the ease of it all. We arrived well-greeted with each and every moment being joyful.
I’m pretty sure by reading this post and seeing the pictures you’d agree that it looked absolutely stunning. So, I encourage you to comment below or perhaps take some of these amazing ideas that this couple did as they were genius. Can I please repeat that they catered Q’doba.
Please keep in mind that this is a fun, enjoyable site so please keep all comments and notes positive.
