Most people who I say ‘Lover Release Party’ too don’t truly know what that means. So, I’m going to explain that quick. Lover is Taylor Swift most recent album. Release Party means that fans are going to throw a party for when it comes out. To be honest, I’m not sure how many other artists’ fans partake in such a thing. But, that amazing thing about Taylor Swift’s Fans is that we celebrate everything that is Taylor Swift.

Today, I’m going to write about my experience with my very first Release Party because it was a very memorable day and it must be talked about!

The Back Story

So, I want to back up a bit here… I’ve been a fan of Taylor Swift since 2006… thats 13 years my friends… 13 years. I know that my friends, family, co-workers know how much I love Taylor but, I’ve never had someone close to me that understood why. To most people – it is just a silly thing, a phase, a confusing concept and that I should ‘get over it’.

So, I decided to take it to the world because I knew that someone out there would understand me. I sometimes like to think that I’m good at social media but lets be real – I need some improvements. I decided to make some special accounts specifically for Taylor related things so that I would follow Taylor fans and I wouldn’t be judged.

The Present

So, I’ve had my Taylor twitter account for a long while like 2 years or so… and someone decided to ask the fandom where everyone was from. I noticed that there was someone who mentioned Wisconsin. You can imagine I freaked; finally someone that I could be friends with!

So, I reached out to her and asked her if she wanted to make a group chat for Wisconsin Swifties. She freaked out and said YES absolutely. During the same time – that same post had one other girl who posted Wisconsin too. So, Jordan, Katie & myself began a group chat called Wisco Swifties.

This post could get wildly long (and perhaps it already is or will be) but it is important to me. So- – as time went on, our group of 3 became a group of 15 and we are so proud of it. We decided, of course, that we wanted to meet each other considering we are in the same state. Unfortunately, not all of us could make it. We had a total of 9 of us that showed up.

The Party

We decided that it would be best to get an Airbnb that was in the city that the majority of people resided in which was Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

I know what you’re thinking – you crazy girl… what if they turn out to be crazy killers. You’re right. It was risky but we all did it anyway because well, We’d do anything to celebrate Taylor Swift. Honestly… And if we had longer to talk – I’d tell you all about why I felt like I trusted these ladies.

Wow, That was a lot. I wouldn’t be upset if you didn’t read all of that. No worries.

If you’re still here – thank you. I’m so grateful to have met these lovely ladies and they have changed my life! Thank you to Taylor Swift for bringing us together. Also – The Lover Album is EPIC and I’m so happy it is now released – it is truly a masterpiece and it is entirely HERS.

Cheers to you Taylor; I hope we can meet one day.

Love, Rachael
