Ugh, It’s tough finding bottoms when you are pregnant. Who is with me? The hardest part is that the majority of maternity wear is moving to online only which makes it pretty difficult to know what size to get and of course you can’t try it on! It’s okay though – I’m here to tell you my top 5 maternity bottoms I’ve been successful with! I will discuss them in order of when I got them!

Target Over The Belly Maternity Jeans: Light Wash & Army Green Wash – $29.99

This was the first time getting anything maternity and to be honest, I had no idea what I was doing. What size to buy? Do I even need jeans? Over the belly or Under the belly? Who knew there were so many questions to be had when it comes to maternity! I sure didn’t.

The army green moto jeans were a gift from my parents when we were shopping so, I’m not sure if they still have these in stock but I’ve noticed now that the over the belly jeans are fitting the same no matter the color or style.

Size I’m wearing: 2, TTS

Recommend: Yes

My particular pair are no longer available online but this is a different wash –> Maternity Crossover Panel Jeggings

Pros & Cons

  • Pro: They are really stretchy
  • Pro: The over the belly is definitely a plus because it helps to feel secure and it feels really comfortable. It is a spandex material so it doesn’t slide down or move at all.
  • Pro: There is a cross panel in the back that helps with fit
  • Con: Not a ton of color or style options at Target. For example: I really like distressed jeans and they didn’t have any. I also really like having a raw edge hem for comfort on my ankles and they only had 1 option so I grabbed those!
  • Con: They bunch a little bit around the crotch area but – since I’m knew to maternity bottoms – I’m noticing they all do this because of the nature of the fit.

Target Maternity Cotton Leggings: Black – $17.99

These maternity bottoms are the type of pants that you just LIVE in when you’re pregnant. Any time that I am going out n’ about with my husband I’m either throwing on a dress or putting these on. They are extremely comfortable and very easy going.

Size I’m wearing: S; however, I should’ve gotten an XS as I feel like they run big.

Recommend: Yes, but make sure you get your right size; order two if necessary to try on two different sizes.

You can find these on Targets website –> Maternity Cotton Leggings

Pros & Cons

  • Pros: The fabric; it is very soft and comfortable.
  • Pros: Close fit (after you get the right size) not baggy or loose.
  • Cons: No cross panel in the back for comfort
  • Cons: The hem at the top can get a little uncomfortable on skin contact but I’ve been wearing a tank top underneath to avoid this.

Amazon Maternity Light Support Pantyhose: Black – $9.90

I am a sucker for pantyhose or tights that are transparent so when I thought about the fact that this fall/winter season I won’t be able to fit into the ones I already have I got a little bit disappointed. So, I headed over to amazon to see if they had something that was inexpensive but could get the job done for these next few months. This are

Size I’m wearing: A; They size by weight and height. I am 5’3 and currently 140lbs at 25 weeks pregnant.

Recommend: Yes! Perfect for dressing up or feeling edgy!

Pros & Cons

  • Pros: Really soft and comfortable
  • Pros: Reinforced toe
  • Pros: Price is really good!
  • Pros: I love the detail of the lace on the bump; makes me feel fancy
  • Cons: Not a ton of support like you would feel with true leggings or tights
  • Cons: Be careful with runs; The moment your nail or something sharp gets by them it will create a run!

Amazon Maternity Faux Leather Leggings: Black – $18.68

Last but not least a trendy, edgy faux leather legging! These were a shock buy for me because I wanted another pair of maternity bottoms for fall/winter but I didn’t want to have too many maternity jeans in the closet so – I decided to step out and try these leather leggings because they would spice up my wardrobe! I mean, I have to when only a limited amount of things fit these days! Luckily, I came out really happy with them and for less than $19!

Size I’m wearing: S, TTS; Size was hard here because I wasn’t sure how tight the leather would be on my thighs. I do not like really snug uncomfortable things on my legs because I get really itchy no matter the fabric.

Recommend: Yes! HIGHLY! Perfect for a warm night with friends or a date night!

You can get them from Amazon here: Maternity Faux Leather Leggings

Pros & Cons

  • Pros: Fabric!! The fabric is actually so good! The inside of the legging is a very thin fleece so its really warm. Perfect for fall/winter! The over the belly fabric makes it feel like you have nothing on! It just forms to your growing baby <3. The leather itself is actually so smooth and soft. Let’s just say you need these.
  • Pros: Once you get them on… Picture any gal stretching out her legs to get those skinny jeans on; they are a little bit like that but trust me – once you get them on you won’t want to take them off because they are so comfortable, warm and soft.
  • Pros: There is an adjustable button & loop in the back for growing with baby!
  • Cons: None!
